February 18th

Most girls get excited about new clothes coming in the mail that they ordered online. I get excited for black & white film, paper, and camera gear. I got so much film, I can’t wait to use it all up! It arrived while I was in class today and was patiently waiting for me in a chair on my front porch. I think it’s nice that the UPS guy always puts packages in the chair instead of right in front of the door so it’s not visible from the street. Just little thoughtful things like that make me smile sometimes. Continue reading

Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. This year I made a list of things to give up and a list of things to pick up on instead of only giving up one or two tempting food items. Those tempting food items are still on the list but I decided I needed to really get into it this year instead of barely trying. I won’t bore you with what is on my lists of do’s and don’ts. This year I’m going to spend the next 40 days for what it is meant for. Continue reading

My friend and soon to be roommate, Caitlin, is a bartender at the new McNellie’s Pub in Norman. There are two other McNellie’s pubs in Oklahoma, one in Tulsa and one in Oklahoma City. I have never been to either one and that always seems to shock people. They are known for their burger nights every Wednesday, having several different beers, and their fun atmosphere. After class, I started experimenting with star trails but didn’t get anything all that great. It was cold and I got frustrated so I moved on. I frantically took pictures around the house and nothing was all that exciting. I decided I would try to take pictures of cars driving by in the night because I like the lines the headlights make. My street is a fairly busy one so I sat by the window and waited with my camera pointed down at the street below. Continue reading

It’s Valentine’s Day! That means pink and sugar, and romance too I suppose. I like Valentine’s Day. YEa I said it, I’m single and I enjoy Valentine’s Day. It’s a happy day. Pink and red are everywhere, everyone is showing their significant others and friends how much they care. It may just be a “corporate holiday” but what’s wrong with needing a day to make you remember who you care about most? It doesn’t mean you only love people or are only loved on February 14th it’s just a good excuse to express it. Continue reading

It’s a nice sunny day in Norman again. I wish that meant Winter was over and Spring was starting but it is Oklahoma so it’s just a weather tease. It’s a great day to sit by an open window and snuggle up with a book and a bunch of pillows. Continue reading

OK, OK I know it’s not Valentine’s day but Lindsay and I got extremely bored at work tonight. When you are working in a library on a Friday evening, anything will entertain you. Continue reading

It’s snowing in Norman again. There has been so much snow this winter. I always say “If it’s going to be freezing it better be snowing” because I hate being cold. Watching the snow makes the cold less annoying. Continue reading

After Capstone tonight I was in a really good mood. My professor and classmates liked my idea for my Capstone project and gave me a lot of good ideas to push it further. When I’m in a really good mood, I craft. Plus, I have a whole lot of floor space now that my room is all spiffy clean. Continue reading

My room is incredibly clean. This picture doesn’t exactly show how clean it is but I love this part of my room. There is so much going on! My shelves are full and I have pictures everywhere. I love it. I like my room to be busy. I like to have tons of color on the wall. It makes me happy. Not everything has to match. Continue reading
