April 13th

For my Capstone project I am including portraits and have found some eager and some not so willing models. I put a cry for volunteers on my Facebook status. Kelley volunteered right away. I’ve known Kelley since 1st grade and we only see each other from time to time. I was surprised that she was so willing to participate. View full article »

March 24th

I had a slow day in ceramics today. I’m working on two pieces at once because they both have to dry a bit while I build them so I work on one while the other one dries out a little. Unfortunately it was a lot more humid today than it was on Monday so my plan did not work as well. View full article »

March 22nd

We did lighting activities today for Studio. I worked with my friend, Elizabeth, and we set our lights up in Catlett Music Center. It has an open lobby with big windows. The blue and green windows cast really interesting shadows on the floor and walls. View full article »

March 14th

Here’s a production shot of a photo shoot I was apart of today. It was for my Studio Photography class. We are working in groups and taking action shots and portraits of Roller Derby girls from the Oklahoma City area. We took pictures for over an hour of the girls doing different tricks and spins for us. We got a lot of great shots and it’s going to be hard to narrow them down. View full article »

March 3rd


We had a productive day in Studio Photography today. We broke into groups and our teacher gave us little tasks to do with the lighting kits. We had to take pictures outside, using the flash as a fill light and take pictures inside to make it look like our model was sitting by a window on a cloudy day or an overcast day. I created this chaotic work of art a couple years ago. I know the base is acrylic paint. I blended it to go from light in the top right corner to dark in the bottom left corner. I’m not 100% positive how I did the black design. I believe I painted all of it with a small paintbrush and calligraphy ink. I say I’m not positive because I may have used a pen on some of it.
