This is a collage I made of test prints I had saved from different projects. Most of these pictures were taken with the view camera but a couple are just 35mm. Whenever I work in the darkroom I save all of my test prints. Even if the exposure is way off or I messed up I still save all of them. View full article »

April 9th

We had our Roller Derby show! It was a part of this month’s Norman Art Walk and so many people came. This is a portion of one of the walls of prints. They all looked great and worked together wonderfully. A few Roller Derby girls came to the show in their uniforms. They seemed to really enjoy it.

January 30th

Today, I went to a little thing in Norman called the Chocolate Festival. Yea, it’s a festival of chocolate. There were about 33 vendors from around Norman and they all gave out samples of different kinds of food containing chocolate. There were lots of brownies, chocolate mousse, cake, coffee cake, cupcakes, ice cream, hot chocolate, and even chocolate chili. I didn’t try the chocolate chili but I guess it was chili with a little chocolate in it. It was the talk of the festival. Admission got you 10 samples, you walked around and picked up the ones you thought looked best and got your card stamped. The whole place smelled like chocolate, it was wonderful. January 16th

Is that a watering can made out of yarn?? No, it’s not. But, it is covered in yarn. This was one of my favorite projects I did in my Foundation Studio classes freshman year. I was so annoyed when my teacher assigned it though. The only parameters were to cover an object with something. I just thought it was ridiculous. I didn’t know what to do. I had a list of ideas, I made sketches. I wanted it to be awesome and all my ideas were boring. I knew I wanted to use something that would be able to shape around a form and not just stick to it. I thought about fake moss, ribbon, fabric, etc. I just wasn’t sure. View full article »
