The Adele 21 record!!! That’s right, record! Old school style! I pre-ordered this almost a month ago and have been patiently waiting for it since. OK, well, I was patiently waiting until the release date and then I turned to obsessively checking the un-updated tracking information for the next 5 days. I checked at least 3 times a day to find nothing new every time. Finally, today everything was updated as my package arrived. I guess I can’t complain since I did just pay for the basic shipping. I just didn’t want to wait. Well, now that the waiting is over it is finally here and was totally worth it. I opened it right away and played it on the parents’ record player.

Enough about getting the record. Let’s move on to how it sounds: simply amazingly beautiful. This is the first song on her album.

I love her voice! Her first album, 19, was great and I fell in love immediately. Now 2 years later a whole new album. And she’s only 21 years old! I gotta say, she topped herself. I’ve been listening to it over and over all day. Might I add, that has taken special effort considering I have to turn it over and replace the needle every 5 songs. Once again, it’s absolutely worth the effort. I love records and I’m so excited ‘Adele 21′ is my first brand new vinyl to purchase. I have a decent amount of used records of my own and many records in my parents’ collection. This is the beginning of a very fun addiction I think.

If you haven’t heard of Adele before, I’m so glad I got to introduce you haha. Seriously, you need to buy her CDs now. If you aren’t totally convinced, go to her website and look around. Read her blog and watch her music videos. www.adele.tv/ I’ve obviously never met her but she seems like a great genuine person.

Thanks to my grandparents, I have my own record player in my room to enjoy.

Don’t even think I’m not listening to Adele right now, because I sure am.

Speaking of wonderful things from my grandparents. They let me have the sailboat painting when they moved out of their house. It’s not just any painting, that’s a painting of my Granddaddy sailing on his Catalina 22. It was hanging in their living room for years and I am so excited to have it. I love it!

That’s what we called our house in Norman, “The One One Two Seven”. Not eleven twenty-seven, that just sounds weird. I absolutely adored that house. It had five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a nice size kitchen, a dining room, living room, den and detached garage. Seriously, how many college houses have that much space?! When looking at the house straight on it looks utterly tiny. It looks like it could have maybe 2 bedrooms. But, when you drive just a little bit farther it’s awesomeness is revealed. Look!

It just keeps going and going. When people came inside they were always surprised at how big it was. I lived upstairs in the converted attic. To access my room I had to walk up some steep stairs and through a horizontal door. Yes, a door in the floor, it was cool. There was a rope to keep it open but at night we closed it. Once I was up the stairs I had to walk through Erin’s room to get to mine. Her bed was in a nook behind a curtain and she slept so hard she rarely heard me walking through after late nights of doing projects or work. My room was like a long, narrow, cozy cave. 

Isn’t it cute? Let me just go ahead and tell you. It rarely looked this clean. As in, it only looked like this for probably less than a week. Sad, maybe, but I’ll own up to it. Having a messy room is part of who I am. I’ll say I have a messy room but there’s no way I will ever show you just how messy it gets. I’ll let you just imagine that for yourself. But, when it’s clean, it sure looks good, doesn’t it? Some of you may remember that our house was featured in the local magazine, Boyd Street, for their College Cribs feature. The house had to look good for the pictures so I had to let them and the rest of Norman think I had an awesomely clean and room. They all fell for it.

I started this post to go along with the fact that I had to move out of this awesome house in May. I had to pack up all my things, take all my art off the wall, and pack it into a U-Haul. My room went from being uber cute to very empty.These pictures are taken of opposite ends but you get the idea. It’s so sad looking. I loved that room and leaving it forever was so sad. I had so many good times in that house.

Well, I survived and am now here to fill you in on what I have been up to. I’ve taken so long to update because I got so wrapped up in the fact that I failed the 365 goal and it would be impossible to go back and recap everyday. Then I got over that and moved to Wyoming with limited internet and thought it would be a big undertaking to catch everyone up to speed. Then I took a road trip and saw lots of awesome things but still didn’t update because I felt I had to make a post about Wyoming before I could say anything about the road trip. Then i moved back home and had stuff to say but couldn’t because I still had to post about Wyoming and the road trip. Do you see a pattern? So I’m going to try to catch up before anything else gets in line.

I’ll give you a brief update of the past few months and you can check back tomorrow for a more detailed post. Well, here goes. I:

• Moved out of my house in Norman (so sad)
• Flew to Wyoming to be a housekeeper at a guest ranch for four months
• Took a road trip from the south of Wyoming to Seattle, down the coast, to the Grand Canyon and back to Tulsa
• Moved back into my parents’ house and started the unsuccessful job hunt

O yea, Happy Valentine’s Day too!

During the night I walked around and just acted like a paparazzi, taking pictures of everyone mid sentence. I like to capture the feel of the party and not just posed shots, documenting who is there. I didn’t end up taking very many pictures though because I was too distracted and didn’t want my camera to get something spilled on it.

The party was so fun, I was so excited to see everyone. Everyone had a lot of fun and met new people. I love the next day when new friendships pop up on my news feed and I know they met at my party. I have friends from so many different groups, sometimes I forget they don’t all know each other already. I’m sad this will be the last gathering at the Norman house. We went out with a bang though.

Gah, I’m going to miss them. I’m glad I have this picture to remember them.

Yesterday, I was telling you that I wasn’t mature enough to fold my laundry and now I’m showing you what I do at work on a Friday night. Yea, I color. Tonight, it was so dead, I got to color two pages! Wow, excitement. Look at how slick they are though. I did them all by myself! I may seem immature to you but really I’m just in touch with my inner child. I enjoy coloring, I think it’s relaxing. It’s a great de-stresser. Plus, it’s not like there’s much to do at the library, on a Friday night. Everybody is out having fun and socializing. Coloring makes the time fly much faster. I got off work at 10 so I still had time to have some fun. I went to Blu for a drink with a friend.

The excitement of my day, laundry. You are totally jealous aren’t you? I know, man it feels good to be me. But really, it feels good to have clean clothes and variety. I let my laundry pile up for quite a while. Who has time for laundry. I never seem to. The most impressive part of this is that my laundry is folded. I despise folding laundry. It is easily the worst part. I can sort it, put it in the washer, choose the cycle, and put the soap in. I don’t even mind transferring the wet clothes from the washer to the dryer but once the dryer is done, misery.

Quite often, I will just lay my clothes flat in a pile and throw the pile over the back of my desk chair. Ridiculous right? Well, in my opinion, trying to sort through the pile of laundry and get that one tank top out without dropping the whole pile is a sacrifice to not folding. It really just depends on the week I’m having. This week, I’m winding down for the most part so I have the time and energy to fold my clothes. Apparently I’m a grown-up, I should probably be folding my laundry on a regular basis. I’ll get there.

To celebrate Capstone being over, a couple of my classmates and I went to McNellie’s for $3 burger night. Before going to McNellie’s our professor took us to O’Connell’s and bought a round of dollar domestics. It was great to hangout with everyone. I wish we had become closer friends before now. They are all amazing people and I am honored to have them in my life.

I really hope I can keep in touch with every single one of them. I can’t wait to see where everyone ends up, I know they will all end up doing great, fascinating things. I’m still in denial about leaving Norman for good. It still just feels like it’s just the end of another semester and I’ll just be back in a couple months.

I walked around campus today and took a couple pictures before work. OU has such a beautiful campus, I’m really going to miss it. I rarely walk to this end of campus since all my classes are contained in one building on the north end. I do love the South Oval though. There is always something going on and the flowers are beautiful.

I also took a couple pictures from across Lindsey which is the way to the dorms. I felt like I was a freshman again, o the old days. I sat on a bench and just watched people going to and from campus and watched the cars drive by. It was a gorgeous day.

I got a little overwhelmed with homework today so I decided I would start on my packing. I started a box for picture frames and different decor from my bookshelves. Taking all my decorations down made it more real that I was moving which made me a little depressed so I stopped packing and went back to my homework. I’m going to miss my house in Norman.

Mom, Dad, and Erin came down to Norman for the opening reception. It was a pretty good success. There was a good turnout and everybody’s stuff looked great. My pictures didn’t fall off the wall either so that’s always good news.
